Picture says 1942, Camp Polk (Peck?) LA. His military service record shows that he was assigned to 12th Armor Div, Ft Campbell KY Oct 23, 1942. However he enlisted Feb 10, 1942, 3d Armor Div and it does not say where he was until October, possibly taken at Boot Camp? Written on back of photo: "Darling: This is a fairly good one of yours truly, but the tank is the main thing. They let me take it by special permission. Its the type of buggy we'll fight the damn Japs with. I'll be using it tomorrow."
